Removing Labels from Subassemblies

I'm currently using the Civil 3D 2012 subassembly ShoulderExtendAll and am having -25.00% slope showing up for the daylight slope with labeling occurring on label set "pave".  I have to keep this "pave" label set on for my cross slope of the shoulder, but don't want the daylight (-25.00%) slope to show up.  I've heard you can hold down CTRL and pick the individual label and delete it, but I'm not having any luck.  Civil 3d says it deleted the label, but it still shows up on the subassembly or my cross section views.  Is there any way to get ride of this label or edit labels within a subassembly?

Thanks

Create an expression for Link labels like so:

IF({Link Grade}<0.1,0.08/12,0.0004)

Then assign the Text height for the label style to use this expression.

This tells C3D that if the grade is less than 10% to use a value of 0.08/12 (my normal, plotted, height is 0.08"), otherwise use a value of 0.0004 which makes it too small to display.
