Remove duplicate points

Does anyone know a way to remove duplicate points (points with the same Northing, Easting, Elevation, and Description, but different point numbers)?

I tried overkill, and it worked in getting rid of a lot of them (70000+ to 13000) but I still have a lot of duplicates that overkill missed.

Terry has a free routine on his site, www.dotsoft.com called duppntdel.lsp.
It was written for LDT. I don't know if it was updated for C3D so...

If you have LDT, open C3D & export points to asci file.

Import asci file to a new project in LDT, run duppntdel & export points out
of LDT into C3D.

The routine works very well.

It will need a little work to run in C3D. I should be able to post a
revision late tonight or early tomorrow morning.

Needs testing, but this should work for LDT & C3D.

I was in a rush, so I found another method using a text editor, but I tried your routine.

It didn't seem to get rid of the duplicates. Not sure if its my use, or not.

I found the problem, added support to require description match.

Download again for the next time its needed.

Now to finish the rest of the tools to finish the points module. 😉

Terry,

I have looked for that application but was unable to locate it, I jsut started using 2014 and have found a project that has 2-3 duplicate sets of points that I need to remove?  Is this lisp still available  and will it work on C3D 2014?

thanks
