Rectangular junction structure with off center alignment shown in profile view

Can someone tell me whether it is possible for a civil 3d structure to be displayed correctly in profile view when the alignment does not pass through the insertion point of the structure.  See the attached screen capture.

The rectangular structure is a storage tank and there will be a pipe coming in on one end and the exit pipe will be on the adjacent side at the far end, just as the alignment shows - but the structure doesn't show correctly, or now how I expected.

Any suggestions?

I'm surprised you got anything with that 90 degree bend?

I believe the structure is placed on the profile based on the relationship of the Northing and Easting of the insertion point, and drawn via the part size definition and it appears that you have a 4x4 box. If that's true the structure is drawn correctly, no?

Exactly what station along the profile would you say this structure is? Assuming the insertion point is the mid point of the box; it would appear to be at 2 stations simultaneously?

I was thinking that most likely structures were being essentially projected into the profile view, as opposed to the 3D geometry actually being cut and drawn based on the alignment like a section cut in AMEP/Revit.

I hadn't thought much about the N/E reference though.  Figured it was worth a shot, I'll just have to manually sketch in these odd-ball structure layouts.
