Re-order label style components

I have run into this several times but never had time to investigate a solution.

The problem: I want to modify the default Profile Grade Break label style that comes with the product as I don't want the line component in the style. When I delete the line component I have to reconfigure the attachment points of the remaining components. I want the marker to attach to the feature, then the PVIS to the marker, then the PVIE to the PVIS. The problem is these components are in the wrong order in the style and thus I can't get the PVIE to be left aligned with the PVIS. There apparently is no way to re-order the components in the style. The only solution seems to be to delete and recreate them in the proper order. Is this the case? If so then there defintely needs to be an enhancement in the product to change the order.

This was created by modifying the style in the Profile > Label Styles > Grade Breaks > Station over Elevation style

Use the attachment point and the x offset and the y offset.

Can you stack the PVIS over the PVIE? Using offsets to get them aligned is not the solution I'm looking for.

This was done just using the anchor component, anchor point, and attachment properties of PVIS and PVIE.

and the rotation angle.

I should have noted the problem is when a label is in dragged state with the Stacked option. The text is stacked according to the order of the components. Do you have a solution for that?

I understand your confusion. This post is not so much about that particular style but rather the inability to re-order label components in general.

In this particular case the problem I initially had with the style was due to a wrong setting I had applied when reconfiguring the style. The components were already in the desired order so that is why you don't see a problem with it.

So to make the point I'll change the task. Now put the PVIE on top of the PVIS.

That's easy, flip label

Show me please how flip label changes the order of the components in a dragged label.

Actually after experimenting with the Copy Component tool in the style editor I've come to realize the copied component is placed at the bottom of the series. So by making copies in the proper sequence, deleting the originals and renaming the copies, it is a fairly simple process to reorder the components.

I'll consider this resolved.

I do appreciate your willingness to help!

You're Welcome?

All I know is that if it was easy everyone would be doing it.

I have been having this issue as well.  Since when i use the as composed method i can only drag the labels one way or i get an issue with the arrow going one way and the text sitting the other.

While i appreciate that this is a solution to the problem, it is far from satisfactory.  As this would be a fairly common issue there isn't any reason why there couldn't be a simple addition to allow you to rearrange the components order rather than copy and deleting to obtain the desired output.  Alternately there could be the option under stacked to sort the component order as desired.

It does frustrate me that most of the problems i have with Civil 3d never seem to be resolved and the work around just becomes the norm.  Many people on these forums seem to accept that and endorse this process but for me the software should be evolving to the needs of the users, not the reverse.
