RAW data file needed (please)

Hello,

Does anyone have a .raw data file with linework that I can use? I have a client that is trying to move from Eagle Point to Civil 3D and they want to disect a .raw file and all I have is an already converted .fbk file.

Thanks a bunch (Happy Friday)

Ok, The linework does not nothing to do with your RW5 or FBK format.

You create a Line work with your data collector

(if this have the option to draw line beetwen points, you have to have a code description list)

When you download the information from your data collector
you are able to export to different formats
(CR5, DAT, TXT, ASCII, etc.)

You can not process you information from the field and add lineworks.

There is another way to do manualy
Process your information from the field to create a RW5
and edit it.

You should know in general the location and description of the points, in order to associate the correct point

When you create a linework with the data collertor, it insert a comand
to indicate to draw a line for the followings points (arcs or lines)

--BEG
SS,OP140,FP160,AR264.51398,ZE113.24404,SD12.678,--COLUMN
SS,OP140,FP161,AR274.49518,ZE115.57059,SD11.612,--COLUMN
SS,OP140,FP162,AR279.29524,ZE110.16482,SD13.312,--COLUMN

This comand draw two lines between this three points

Like you see it it would take to much time
and you have to pre- process your FBK

to know the range of points that belong to a specilfic line
(for example: TC, ROW, FL, LIP, BLDG, etc

another way is with the comand line of LDD, draw a line by points range

and draw lines from the first poin to the last one, anbd erase the lines that do not make sence.

The correct way to do it, check if the Data Collector
support the option to draw lines (check the manual of the data collector, it depends of the model and brand)

If it does, you have to create a code list in order that your data colector would be able to associates points with the same description.

if it does not, you can do not nothing about.

Good luck. Try to get a TDS with the option to draw lines
