Raster image detaches even if you say no

I copy a raster image from one spot in the drawing to another, use it temporarily, then I erase the copy of the raster image, it asks me if I want to detach the image, I say no, and it detaches it anyway and all copies dissapear and have to be reattached????  What am I missing?

Thanks,

Hi David,

I tried a few things to recreate the issue, but was unsuccessful. I attempted in Civil 3D and Map 3D 2013 Suite installs and updated servive packs.

Referenced an image using Xref, copied, deleted copies, and I don't get the detach error until I try to delete the last copy.

MAPIINSERT, copied, same results as above

IINSERT [Raster Design command], copied, same results as above.

What commands did you use to attach the images? What program [Map/Civil]? Does this happen on all drawings, or just this one? Do other users you work with get this same result?

Loose nut on the keyboard. Found system setting. Planning and analysis (map) - Insert - Image sub menu - General tab - "always detach" instead of "never detach". Thanks for looking into it for me.

Thanks
Dave
