Rail cant applied in the ballast

Is there any way to use the cant calculation only in the ballast code, keeping the subblast and the datum fixed

I thought about using some generic link, but I don't know if there is a way to apply cant in generic links the same way we can do with road superelevation.

Thank you

I had the same issue and couldn't find a way to do that. Finally, I end up with seperating the model as subbalast and ballast. After modelling subbalast I make a surface target from ballast shoulders to subbalast surface. That's not a very kind solution but it's a solution. 🙂

This looks like it would be fairly simple to model in our application Subassembly Studio...we've built rail subassemblies far more complex than this.

Here's an example of an existing rail subassembly we created for a customer back in 2011:

Something like this could be easily modified to change the behavior of the subballast layer.  It would also be fairly straightforward to create a new subassembly from scratch where the subballast stays fixed but the ballast and track are canted.
