"THICKEN" - SURFACES

Hello,

I am using Civil 3D 2013.

Trying to convert a tinn surface to a solid by selecting Solid pull-down inside the modeling woprkspace.  From there, select Thicken.  But once select thicken and select a surface, the command returns a message: "1 was filtered out, No surfaces selected".  What am I likely doing wrong that I can not select my tinn surface and convert it to a solid with a thickness using the "Thicken" command?

As you've found out. A Civil 3D Surface is not an AutoCAD Surface. So you cannot use AutoCAD Surface commands to edit a Civil 3D Surface.  See this link. http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-civil-3d/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticle...
