QTO Manager - Takoff

What is the correct format for the .csv file to be imported into QTO manager?
The attached file loads into the QTO manager, but I cannot get the "units" to behave.
Every item I assign to an line or pline gives me a count instead of a length.

Also, how do you change the precision (decimal places) of the report.

Your CSV file looks fine.  When assigning a
pay item to a polyline, you need to assign a pay item that has units associated
with length.  There are several in that CSV file towards the bottom (i.e.,
those with units of 'LNFT' (linear feet)).

The 'EACH' and 'LPSM' pay items will just count
the number of entities with those pay items (not the area nor
length.)

For a list of acceptable units, you can look in
the file

    C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Application Data\Autodesk\C3D 2010\enu\Pay Item
Data\Units\QTOUnits.xml

Tom,
Did you try the CSV file that was attached?
It is formatted properly and does not work.
Also, what about the precision?

I have not used the QTO stuff yet, but if it's a "CSV" file format then how can you have commas in the description column?

Wouldn't that put the second part of your description into the unit field?

We took another look at this file and discovered
that it has some extra white space that is causing the issue - probably an
inadvertent space when inputting the units. That is causing the LNFT units to
perfectly match the units found in the QTOUnits.xml file and defaulting back to
a count. Try removing the spaces, and your file works correctly.

You can change the precision by editing the
precisions in the TakeOff command settings.

Hope this helps,

Tom,

You are the original architect and developer of QTO. Please give us a status on the ongoing repairs.

We have a current roadway project that we need QTO operational for immediately...

The documented software defects are:

1) We need to report and calculate formulas with Areas that are not projected to the XY plane.

2) Formula math errors

3) Duplication of areas in subassemblies due to duplicate coding of inks.

4) The 3D length computations do not work even though we have 3D length selected in the settings (see below).

Please note any account with an asterisk beside it is a old nntp account and no longer receives forum postings as nntp is no longer supported protocol here in the forums.

Sorry but it just doesn't work that way this post was made with an older account. There is no may to make it state that it was some one else.

After a quick search there is no similar active employee account that I see. But you are welcome to search for his name in the user accounts all employees will  have a Icon like the one on this account.

Thanks

Note the asterisk? Verified employee accounts looks like this Moderator @Discussion_Admin

But with a full name I did check the directory for you and there is no Inzinga at all listed.

I have read your posts in several threads on this issue in the forums. You do know that this is primarily a peer to peer discussion board and almost none of the team members hang out in here with regularity.

Even if you ran one down they could not tell you about any upcoming patches or fixes corrections etc. Autodesk being a publicly traded company and all.

Just trying to say there are better venues if you are trying to make sure the team knows about it.

As an Administrator, you are not consistent though, that's why I pulled it.

For example, here's a post just yesterday from an employee with no logo:

Thanks for the info.

We update them as soon as possible that one has been updated.

If you run across any more active employees with out the proper role you can use the

Report Inappropriate Content Button to notify us.

Oh, are you talking about the substance of what Team Members, who never visit here,  are saying these days,  or are you talking about the Logos again?

No control over who, what and when employees post ( primarily peer to peer discussion) but if an employee does and has not had their account set to an Autodesk employee role as your example above then let us know with the button and we'll get it corrected.

Thanks
