purging

We are having issues with some of our dwg's with the purge command.  They have cogo points, xrefs our own standards and its on a template, the whole nine yards.  Some of they layers do purge but some to most will not.  Would it have anything to do with our template?  Any assistance would be great.  for Civil3d 2011

More likely the Styles in the template. Any layer that is referenced in a style will not purge. Also any block required for a point or marker style will not purge nor any layers in that block.

It's just something you have to deal with in Civil 3D.
