Properties Palette won't stay in the same location after close and re-open

My co-worker's moves his un-docked properties palette to the location he wants (on a second screen). Now, he closes and re-opens Civl 3D 2011. When he opens it, the palette reverts back to the center of his main screen.

We have similar setups and when I move my properties palette to a different location, close and re-open Civl 3d, the palette is in the same location as I had last moved it to.  His doesn't act that way though for some reason.

I tried looking for a variable but had no luck. He can move his toolspace palette to the second screen, close, re-open and it stays where it was moved, like it should.  I've tried saving his workspace prior to closing, but that doesn't seem to work either.

Any suggestions? It has to be some variable that I'm missing.  Maybe has something to do with his second screen?

Check your video card control center software for a setting to automatically center pop-ups / dialog boxes.

Try saving your workspace after you've moved the palette. Or better yet, set up your workspaces so they save automatically.

The problem has seemed to have fixed it self. He can now move it, close the session, open it back up and the palette is where he last put it.  Not sure what changed.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Nestly2's suggestion to check the video card setting worked for us. Here is a screenshot of my settings. I'm sure this is specific to my video card, but it might be helpful.

We did solve the problem

Here is how

setting in your video card display

Desk top management

set to do not allow dialog box moving

Hope this works for you
