Project Objects To Multiple Section Views

Hi there 

We work on projects where buildings are designed in Revit and are exported to Civil 3D 2014 as solid models (dwg solids), so far so good.

The problem is the following:
By using the method, "Project Objects To Multiple Section Views" is possible to transfer solids objects to the cross sections. My problem is that I have to insert revit model as a block to be exploded to grab solids models.
This process is difficult because Revit model are reviewed periodically in the design process. Is there a more efficient work routine? eg inserting Revit model as an xref / block and extract properties of the model to the cross-sections?
