PROGRAM DEGREDATION

I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THIS, PLEASE HELP

WE ARE EXPERIENCING PROGRAM DELAYS IN OUR C3D 2006 SOFTWARE THAT I HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE IN AN AUTODESK PRODUCT, SUCH AS DOING A SIMPLE FILE-> OPEN THEN CANCEL, THERES ABOUT A TEN SECOND DELAY BEFORE ANYTHING MENU ITEM, ICON, OR COMMAND LINE BECOMES ACTIVE AGAIN, THIS IS WHAT I HAVE TRIED

we have tried a bunch of stuff:

situation: we have 13 network licenses of C3D 2006

problem: software slowing down and pausing at random for about 8-10 seconds

things we have tried:

1. we moved our network license manager to a server that sees absolutely no traffic on the network because it is a backup, no help

2. we tried moving our enterprise cui file locally versus networked, no help.

3. we tried moving our enterprise template file locally versus networked, no help

4. we tried changing ten of our network licenses to local for our main users versus network floating, no help

5. i have re-written out template file and all the descriptive keys, point groups, label styles, etc., no help

all of our computers are up to industry speed, meaning averaging 2.8 gig or higher processors, with 1-2 gigs of ram, on a 1 gig network

i cant figure it out!!!

AUTODESK PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This may not help but try turning off the DUCS tab (if not off already) located next to the OTRACK tab at the bottom of the screen.

Make sure that all the computers are connecting with the network the same
way. Are all the ethernet cards set to AutoNegotiate speed and duplex
settings? Verify that each device attached to the network is at the same
speed and duplex - we had issues with Autocad freezing that took 2 years to
track down the offending router that was connected at 100MB half-duplex
instead of full-duplex. The moment I forced the router to full-duplex, the
cursor pauses vanished.

I always notice stickyness when a server name has changed or a printer was moved.
What happens is shortcuts are still around to old server names, and windows seems to look at that stuff at odd times.
Try using filemon.exe by sysinternals (its free) to watch what is going on. It simply lists the file activilty and the
process doing it.
It has helped me track down and solve many issues such as the virus checker overchecking files.
You may find that acad is looking for something it cannot find now.
Having said all that, i still see some stickiness with LDT 2006 and Map 2006.
