I always notice stickyness when a server name has changed or a printer was moved.
What happens is shortcuts are still around to old server names, and windows seems to look at that stuff at odd times.
Try using filemon.exe by sysinternals (its free) to watch what is going on. It simply lists the file activilty and the
process doing it.
It has helped me track down and solve many issues such as the virus checker overchecking files.
You may find that acad is looking for something it cannot find now.
Having said all that, i still see some stickiness with LDT 2006 and Map 2006.
