Profiles & pressure pipe networks: Would this work for drafting purposes?

We currently use the regular pipe network utility to its intended purpose.  We do NOT use the pressure pipe network utility at all.  We still draft profile line work and information for water and sanitary force mains the old school way, "by hand".

Is there any reason we couldn't draft a water network using regular pipe network utilities?  We could create and/or modify existing storm or sanitary structures and layers to look right.  It wouldn't have to be dynamic for quantity and materials purposes, but could still be dynamic for drafting and visual purposes, and thus save some time.

Do some people already do this?  Or, if not, has it been tried and found unworkable?

Nothing wrong with using Pipe Networks to depict a pressure line. I do it and I have seen others here do it as well.
