Profile Geometry Points on Alignments

HI All,

I'm looking to do some station-elevation labeling on my horizontal alignment.

Add/Edit Station Labels -> Type Profile Geometry Points works fine for labeling the entire (or partial) alignment, but I want to be able to create a label and style where i can pick any point on the alignment in plan, reference the FG profile for that alignment, and have the lable say STA:XXX+XX and EL:XX.XX

Surely in Civil 3D 2011 this can be done, right?

Any ideas?

Good morning.

Yes, you can do what you're asking.

When you are creating your Station/Offset label style, on the Layout tab of the Style Composer, add a Reference Text

component. When you modify its contents, Profile Elevation will be available as a property.

You cannot combine this with station and offset within the same component, but as an addtional component within the same label style.

Best regards,

Tim

Hi Tim,

I see and understand how to modify the label settings, but I don't see how i can pick a generic point on the alignment on which to apply my label.

That point in most cases is not a profile low\high point, not a pvi, not a grade break, its not any kind of profile geometry feature. I'd like it to be manually chosen (and if it had grips to slide forward and back on the alignment so much the better)

As Tim said, it must be a Station/Offset label.
