Profile Crest & Sag Curve Label Expressions

I have tried all of the expressions below to add the the vertical curve elevation at the pvi to my curve crest & sag labels on my profile and all I get is ??? for the value. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? I am currently running Civil 3D 2012.

Thank you,

Rich

IF({Grade In}<{Grade Out}, ({PVI Elevation}+{Tangent Offset at PVI}), ({PVI Elevation}-{Tangent Offset at PVI}))

{PVI Elevation}+{Tangent Offset at PVI}

{PVI Elevation}-{Tangent Offset at PVI}

Is it a reference text component?

Did you verify your expression result type and style looked similar to what I showed in the other forum?

Can you post a drawing showing the problem?

Are you sure that the Tangent Offset is the correct parameter to use for this?  I think that you would use the External Secant as the distance from the PI to the curve.

What 'Format result as'  are you using?

Steve, that is the correct formula he's using. it's what I've been using for years.

Gentlemen,

Thank you very much for all of your responses. I feel like a total idiot. I was assuming that because all the other expression in the preview window were showing actual values and it was putting ??? in the preview window, that it wasn't working. Upon using it in an actual drawing, I found it was working correctly. I guess I'm an Almond Joy today, because I learned a long time ago about what happens when you ASSUME.
