PROBLEMS WITH POINTS...

I was wondering if anyone else was having issues with Points. When I bring in Points, with my Desc. Keys & Point Groups already in place, the points do very weird things.

(i.e. I have to manually adjust Point Groups by selecting the "Use a fixed scale" for my Point label styles.)

Secondly, when I use my "No Points" Point Group, it doesn't really do what the Point Group suggests.

I've tried re-creating my Point Groups in fear that I was doing something wrong. Also, I have adjusted my Desc. Keys.

Any suggestions? Comments?

Edit: BTW.... this was happening before, during & after the SP1 install so it's not a new issue I'm having. Message was edited by: JermVent

Are you applying scales to the points in your description keys? That is the
only reason I could see the block sizes being adjusted.

When you use a description key the style gets set per point, not by point
group. So raising your No point group to the top of the priority order is
only changing the points which dont have a symbol predefined from the
description key.

I'm having difficulty working out what you find so weird on the screenshot unless you're referring to the red crosses. If it is the
red crosses, I seem to recall (and I'm solely working on memory here) that your AutoCAD definition of Point Style (NOT the Civil 3D
Point Style) affects how the cross will appear; try adjusting that smaller and you might get what you're after. That said, you can
set your Standard Point Style to a fixed size (my personal preference) or to the drawing scale, in which case you must set an
appropriate drawing scale in the Units and Zone tab of the Drawing Settings dialog.

With regards to your No Points group, Nick's right, you need to create a Point Style with an invisible marker and apply that in the
Description Key to the appropriate points, *OR* do what I do and put it in a Points - Invisible group so that you see them most of
the time (or can switch them off via the layer) but they never plot. See the thread
