Problems exporting C3D 2014 drawing to AutoCAD 2012

Hello!

Our company is now preparing a profile in C3D 2014 and we are experiencing some difficulties with sending it to our client.

The problem is that our customer is using AutoCAD 2012 and we cannot find a way to Export all we need. Our drawing includes logo, cogo points, tiff satellite image, polylines, alignment and profile. We need to deliver an AutoCAD 2010 drawing.

Using Etransmit and Exporting to ACAD2010 we receive everyting but without the labels on alignment and profile.

We have installed Object Enabler and tried changing ProxyGraphics settings.

Where might be the problem? We've spent already many hours trying to figure it iut.

Thank you.

Don't depend on eTransmit to convert the AEC objects for you. (On a copy of the drawing) run the AECOBJEXPLODE command, possibly more than once until all of the AEC objects are converted to native geometry.

After that, then you can run the _AecExportToAutoCAD2010 command to get your 2010 version drawing.

Thank you very much!

This tip helped us solving 90% of the problems. But the issue is that all the labels are now displayed twice  (if we make 1 step back, no labels are displayed).

And the thing which is left unexported is the coordinate grid (added in layout).

Any ideas?

Not sure about the double labels (presume you mean in the final exported DWG?) Are they on the same layer? As far as I know, only annotative labels are subject to the "Maintain Visual Fidelity" setting.

The AECOBJEXPLODE command only works on MS or layouts. Did you see this in the dialog?

In theory, if all of the AEC objects are crunched down to native objects, you could skip the export to ACAD command and just do a SaveAs, while choosing the 2010 format. This may be of some help also.

Check the Civil 3D drawing used for the Export to AutoCad.

Does that drawing also have "double labels" on Layout Profiles?

The reason I ask is I've filed a support request for this and AutoDesk confirmed the issue.

This happens in our custom dwt's and the 2014 Tutorial drawings.

Haven't tested this in 2014 SP2 yet.

Hello Jay!

The Layout is perfectly fine, double labels appear only in Model space.

Saving it differently does not solve the issue (double labels stay).

And what might be the problem with the coordinate grid?

Thank you both for the comments!

Here's the issue I'm referring to, it sounds like you may be getting duplicate labels everywhere regardless of object type etc.?

As far as the duplicates, those can easily be cleaned up using either OVERKILL or MAPCLEAN commands.

An extra step for sure but they do work.

Hey Jay,

We are not sure about it. Could you take a glance at the dwg?

The images are ok, so I am not sending them.

OVERKILL or MAPCLEAN can help, thanks. Though we have 162 profiles...
