Problem thawing frozen layer in viewport in 2010

I am having a problem with one of the layers that I want to unthaw in a viewport.  The string below appears automatically in the command area without allowing me to enter options etc. and won't unthaw the layer.  The layer is not current.  I have rebooted but this has not helped.  Can anyone give any guidance on this?

Command: '_.VPLAYER
Enter an option [?/Color/Ltype/LWeight/Freeze/Thaw/Reset/Newfrz/Vpvisdflt]:
_THAW
Enter layer name(s) to thaw: PARKING OPTION #3
No matching layer names found.
Enter an option [?/Color/Ltype/LWeight/Freeze/Thaw/Reset/Newfrz/Vpvisdflt]:
_CURRENT
Invalid option keyword.
Enter an option [?/Color/Ltype/LWeight/Freeze/Thaw/Reset/Newfrz/Vpvisdflt]:

While the # character is a valid character for use in Table (Block, Layer, Style, etc.) names, it shouldn't be, as it is also used as a Wildcard symbol in many programming languages. As you've found it won't work at the command line, likely due to how the VPLAYER command is coded to use wildcards.

Thank you so much!  That was it and I would have NEVER figured that one out on my own.  Have a great weekend!
