POINTS in drawing NOT accessible

Existing points in drawings show up on the screen but I cant LIST, EDIT or EXPORT.

When I ADD points in the same drawing all functions work correctly but only for the new material .

Any suggestions?

  • Are these point objects selectable?
  • Can you change their style or label styles?
  • Are they visible as part of any point group?
  • Have you audited the drawing?

Are the points possibly in a locked Survey database?

The first question I have is if you cannot list them, how do you know they are points?

Joe. Mine says 8:27. Might want to check your settings or battery.

They appear on screen as POINTS.....Point number, description and label.

I can select them but NOTHING comes up.....no LIST, no STYLE....nothing.

I will do an audit and check if there is a database but cant do much today since I'm not at my work computer.

Any other suggestions?

My guess is they are not c3d points.

Try selecting one of the items with the Properties Palette open.

If they are Civil 3D points it should say "Cogo Point" at top of palette, and if it says Cogo Point and Survey Point is "True" under data then it's also a "Survey Point".

Try using the point conversion utilities under the pulldown Points>Utilities; if they are ACAD or LDD points you can update them to C3D points.
