Point workflow

I work at a land survey firm. Alot of what we do is with points. Can someone explain the point workflow/prospector/survey tabs? when to use which tab and what they're for?

Are you planning to bring the points in from an ASCII point file or from a Field Book?

The Survey Tab is for managing the Survey Database. Survey Databases are a great feature for bringing in the

linework automatically (and the only means of doing so) in C3D.

The Prospector is mostly used to control the display of the Points, using Point Groups you can do a lot of things

Including creating an EG Surface Points Point Group that only includes the appropriate points for creation of the

Existing Ground Surface etc.

There's also a 2012 AU class called Connecting the Dots is for Kids and the class materials can be found on the AU website.

We don't use FieldBook files. So start with Jay's suggestions.
