You may be the only one doing this. Exploding a point destroys it's usefulness. What are you trying to accomplish?

If you need it in just AutoCAD elements, ie lines and text, use 'Export to AutoCAD'. The results will be better.

You can explode your points if you want to. I some times explode points to keep just  blocks inserted with the description. The elvations don't change. There should be some settings in your drawing that affect your elevations. Try to insert your points to  vanilla autocad (not civil 3d) and explode.

i need that because some office work with Autocad 2007 and need drawing be explod.

@ yosephk: are point lable keep elevation after explod? my problem is'nt block point. just labels go on 0 elevation.

i tried export to cad 2007 and cad 2007 dxf with no result.

thanks for any suggestion

Yes, the elevation label will be there after it is exploded. But it will be just  text. It can not be used for surface creation. If that is the case re-import your points  to a new point group with elavation lebel style. Also check if your points are comma delimited or space delimited.

To move text to elevation use Move Text to Elevation.

To convert cogo point to blocks use Create Blocks from COGO Points.

hey,

when I created a point label style like yours that uses the point elevation as the description, then exploded it (took 4 explosions to get it to text), the description remained the same (the elevation).

if I used Points>Utilities>Blocks form COGO Points, the description reverts to whatever it was when the point was initially created. Unfortunately it seems that it creates the description *before* it creates the elevation and this is apparently why it doesn't hold the elevation as the description. If you are prompted to enter a description, then it changes the description based on what the elevation, it reverts to the original when turning the point into a block.

When I exported using File>Export>Export to AutoCAD and exported it to a release 200 dwg, the points were changed to blocks and the descriptions stayed as the elevation regardless of how they were created.

You may also try exporting the points to an ASCII file and importing them into a spread sheet to manipulate the data if you need it for office work.
