We've also reproduced this bug with the explode command

We're running C3D 2012 SP3

I was having a problem with "user properties" too.If I imported points with the points toolbar all was fine but if I imported through survey the "user prop" did not show up in the drawing but it was in the prospector view. Survey somehow created its own user property and when I used that one in my point style the problem went away. I can import points through survey or through the points toolbar and my "user prop" shows up now. Not sure if this is any of you guys propblem but I thought I'd chime in just in case.

Thanks for the input;

I am able to duplicate the problem with survey points so perhaps we're talking about differenet issues. I'm not sure if it's noted yet but the custom data on the point that was erased or exploded is still there. It's just erased from all the other points in the drawing.

The nice thing about the survey data-base though is that if we lose the custom data it's very easy to re-import. Unfortunately it doesn't help me with sorting through older data.

Do not delete points graphically any more.

So far I can reproduce this bug by deleting the points from the panorama, graphically, or through the all points point group. Is there another method that you're using where the customized cogo point attributes don't dissapear?

Yes, I delete points individually in prospector or create a group in
prospector by selecting graphically first. A high percentage of our work
is high accuracy GIS with attributes brought into C3D 2012 points with a
classification so we don't take a chance with deleting points graphically.

Unfortunately i still reproduce the bug if i delete them with a point group, or via the prospector toolbar / panorama;

I should note that it's only when we undo our deletion that the attribute data dissapears. We can delete points and not lose the data; but if we try to revert back to a time prior to the deletion we lose all the customized attributes. Things like raw description, full description, etc are unaffected either way.

What version of C3D are you using and do you create your classification in
the survey toolbox extended properties and import it into the drawing?

Just do not ever make a mistake and delete any points in your drawing!

Since I make mistakes everyonce in a while. I had to write a program using Visual Studio that attaches object data tables to our points. I had to write one program to import points and one to export points.

Okay, our data is in Excel. I use VBA macros to export CSV files and C3D
point file formats to read and write to or from the survey toolbox or to
the drawing dasebase. I can then write to C3D tables when we need that.
It may be that any point delete is disconnecting your tables.
