Pipe Network Structure Station Label

HI,
If I have a manhole at an intersection of two roads with accompanying alignments, how do I get the structure label to reference the two different alignments in my profile views?
Right now, I have the same station in both profiles and I need to change it to match the stationing in the appropriate profile view. Anyone know how to get this to work?

Thanks.

It looks like there is a provision there for handling this but it doesn't seem to work. If you RT click the structure label in the profile and choose properties these is an area there where you can set the reference alignment for the label. The labile uses the alignment assigned to the structure no matter what I've tried.

Here is how I got it to work. Lets call your default alignment Road A and
your non default Road B. Go the plan view of the structure you want to label
and create two labels for the structure. On one the labels right click and
set the reference alignment to the Road B. Now go to the profile with for
Road B and and DELETE the manhole structure out of the profile. Now go back
to the plan view and click on the Road B label not he structure itself and
select draw part in profile. Then select the Road B profile. The label on
the manhole should now use the Road B stationing.

I did a little testing and found that my method does work but not the way I
thought it did. Here is how the labeling works.
Once again we have Road A and Road B. Road A is the default alignment for
the structure. Go into both of these profiles
and delete the manhole and labels if they are already drawn. Now create two
labels on the structure in the plan view. Label one
will refence the Road A by default and label 2 will be set to reference Road
B. Now when you add the manhole to the profile select
profile Road A first because that was the first label you drew. Now add the
part to the Road B profile and that will refence the second
label you drew which we set to Road B.

When you get a chance to do a little more testing I'd like to know what happens if in the end you delete one of the labels in the plan view. (cuz you only need one) Do the structure labels in the profile remain correct? And what happens if you move the structure?

Thanx

This is what I did. I created one label on the mahole in the plan and
changed the reference alignment of that label to Road B. The first
profile I label will use the Road B stationing. The second profile I label
will use the default Road A stationing.

So to anwer your question about deleting one of the labels in the plan veiw.
The label that is remaining will control the labels of the
profile based on the situation above. The first profile label will now
reference the plan label reference alignment and the second profile
label will now reference the default alignment. If you originally started
with one plan label and then inserted a second plan label the second
profile label will now be controlled by the second plan label.

From what I saw all labels in plan and profile updated as they should when
you move the sturcture.

How are you guys handling the plan view label rotation for this situation?

If you have to label the structure on both sheets covering the intersection, how do you make it look right on the plan view on both sheets? I have label styles made up to rotate based on the view. This works great for sheet A, but they rotate to the view on sheet B and are consequently out of place. I hope I am making this clear. See attached jpg.

Hello,

I'm using c3d 2007, and I have the same question as blueriver - referencing structures to two different alignments. Considering I'm having the same problem, I'm assuming it hasn't been fixed in 2007? or should I work around it as Adam had suggested?

Thanks.
