hi

i am about to buy a new computer to work in civil 3d

My  question is: does the new ssd(solid state drive) disks play a importante role in civil 3d perfermance?

There have been a number of threads on this topic in the last week or two that you should review. My take is that if AFTER you get all the other features that are required you still have money in the budget then buy a SSD.

1. OS - WIndows 7x64 is the only OS that I would allow on a new machine. Putting XP on a new machine would be a complete wasted of money.

2. Memory - More is better

3. CPU Speed - This is far more important than the number of cores

After those big three comes the video card and the disk speed.

Cheers,
