Parcel, ROW Linetype not sticking

If you have a ROW parcel with a dashed linetype, then you subdivide lots using that as the frontage, Civil 3D interrupts the dashed linetype and makes the line appear continous. If you make the lots bigger, or if you erase a few, the linetype appears again. I guess it thinks the ROW line is too short to show linetype.

Does anyone know any tricks to get linetype to show through? Maybe if I mess with the parcel hierarchy….

Ding ding ding, we have a winner.

Check out the Properties of the Parcel collection for that site.

If you want the ROW parcel type to always show, it should be on top.

You also might have some underlying linework that is messing with your
display.

The linework is correct-- right layer/color showing through.

It is the LINETYPE that hiccups.

it looks fine until you add additional lot lines that "cut" in into smaller segments

Just like....

when you draw a line that is too short to show its linetype.

Here is a play-by-play pdf with screen captures of what it looks like.

I guess everyone I have worked with before either had a very short lt (like hidden) or they used continuous.

may have answered my own question

when ROW line was drawn as polyline, if i set the LTgen to ON, it holds that setting with the parcel definition....

Cool!
