Parcel - cannot select when using "Parcel Creation Tools"

We have a nice parcel all set up with its label, etc.  We can pick this parcel, examine it, list it, etc.  It's a legitimate parcel.  

We want to create split this parcel by sliding a bearing.  We open "Parcel Creation Tools," pick the "Slide Line - Create" tool, and are asked to select the subject parcel.  

Once we are in "Parcel Creation Tools and are asked to select our parcel, well, we can't select our parcel!  We can't pick the parcel label, can't pick any of its boundary lines.  As long as we're in "Parcel Creation Tools," this parcel is inaccessible.  

Why?  How do we proceed?

Not sure what version you using but I have seen this in C3D13, myself.

You might try doing an audit to the drawing to see if it fixes the issue.

Also, try change the lable to a OOTB style, you can always switch it back later

Be sure the parcel you are subdividing and the new parcels being created are in the same Site.
