Parcel area label layers

My parcel labels look like this:

LOT 1
43,560 SF
1.00 AC

All 3 components end up on the same layer. That is fine for my record plan, but on all the other sheets I only want to see the lot number. Is there any way to put the lot number and the area on separate layers?

if you are using 2007, here is a solution:

you can't split layers inside the area label style, but you can make a note
that references the parcel. James explains it pretty well.
