Parabolic shape waterway pallete assembly

Hi C3D guru,

Could you help me how to create a parabolic shape assembly? Currently, I am working on a parabolic waterway, 30' top width and 1' depth. I really appreciate any help. Thanks!

The corridors dont support true curves, so you need a segmented arc. If you
look at roadway parabolic it gives you an idea of how the corriddor would
model the parabola. You could probably draw something from a polyline and
convert that into a sub-assembly or maybe the parabolic road can be fooled
to have a reversed crown.

Nick's on the right path. Curves can't be modified, but the parabolic crown
could be edited fairly easily to get the effect you're after.

To be honest, the approximated curve is your best quick bet, but if you want
to discuss a custom edit to the stock assemblies, please contact me at

The other thing you could try is the Parabolic Channel that ships with 2007.

On the Imperial Roadway tab of the 2007 tool palettes there's a
LaneParabolic sub-assembly

Hi James,

First, I must thank you for extending your help for a C3D beginner like myself. I don't have fromal training on this but I am a self motivated and self learner. At this point, I learned how to create a surface from points, aligments, profiles, and cross sections. I haven't done any corridor at all, so I have a lot of questions as you can see. Back to parabolic assembly, I really would appreciate any help how to create such assembly however method is the best one. On corridor, what preparation should I have first in the drawing before creating corridors. Looking forward for your response.

Hi James,

You are right the parabolic crown available in the subassembly probably my best bet. But how can I reverse the position? Thanks once again.
