on/off display toggle for surface points and triangles - how to do this?

Since Action recorder does not work with the surface style display box, is there any way

to automate the toggle of points and triangles display ?

I dont see any command lines that can change the light bulb status?

Use different styles and swap the style used.

if it involves dialog boxes it wont save any time

Once you have the styles. Setup you can switch styles on the properties or quick properties palettes.
