Odd point selection behavior: Not selecting all points in window

I'm having trouble adding points to a point group.  For some reason when I do a window to select the points it's not picking up all of them, just some of them and I can't find any explanation.  The points originated in a Land Desktop 2004 project.  When I open the drawing in 2011 they are AECC point objects so I "Convert Land Desktop Points" under the Points-Utilities menu and it appears to convert all of them just fine as they are all converted to "Cogo Point" objects.

I create a point group and do a window select from the point group editor either left or right window selection doesn't seem to matter.  The points that it selects doesn't appear to be consistent and sometimes it doesn't select any.  I am seeing the same behavior under the qselect menu.

I just started using a Win7 64 system and 2011.  Is anyone else experiencing this?
