Object Selection Filter - filter block name with wildcard

Hi,

Hopefully someone has experienced this and has a suggestion.
When using the export command to export a c3d dwg to a version 2004 (or other) dwg to send to a client we were getting inconsistant results. i.e sometimes the the cogo points would be exported (in the form of block objects) an sometmes not. So we have started exploding the cogo points, then exploding the blocks created from exploding the cogo points.....etc etc till we get text and lines. This drawing then gets sent to the client.

Anyway, my question is - after exploding the cogo points the blocks created have different names but all start with *U. e.g. *U295, *U156
I'm trying to create a object filter based on identifing the U in the object name (see attachment). I have tried many different filters but none work.

Any suggestions??

Thanks

Ben

Use the apostrophe ` in the filter:

`*U*

It is the symbol in the key below the ESC key on most keyboards, the one
which has the tilde as the shifted character.

Something else you should note......if you use Dynamic blocks, and set a
dynamic property the actual block name becomes an anonymous block with that
same *UXXX naming convention. If you don't want those exploded, be warned.

I have similar issue with my file.

I have an exported to Autocad from Revit file. All of the Similar type blocks have similar names with one portion of the name different.

ie. Block 1: Rectangular Mullion - Rectangular Mullion 7_5_ x 2_5_-10290233-Building 1 Third Floor Signage Plan
Block 2: Rectangular Mullion - Rectangular Mullion 7_5_ x 2_5_-10292150-Building 1 Third Floor Signage Plan.
Green
is Similar andRedis different portion of block name.

Can I use the apostrophe wildcard for the numbers in Red? I would like to be able to select all the blocks using a portion of the name.

Thank You for any help given..
