Object listing

Is there a way to count all types of object in a drawing?

Like this:

Command: ????

Number of blocks: 22

Number of 3d faces: 2

.

.

Number of hatches:1

"Qselect" does it but it can be very slow if there are a large number of objects in the file.

I guess this information is savea as "meta data" and can be accessed even without opening the file???

One more thing:

Select or Qselect does not work if the number is greater than 32000?

Ctrl + A

Then go to your properties (Ctrl + 1)

Drop down the list at the top, it numbers each object.

Not great for a huge drawing  maybe, but it's something like what you wanted.

As I mentioned there is a limit of 32000 objects using Properties!

But Thanks anyway!

If I were you I would have a look over at the lisp forum or just on the web with your favourite search engine.  I'd be surprised if it hasn't been done before.

If you were to consider third party software, ToolPac contains this functionality (and much more).

Have you tried SSX or a similar lisp or VBA.  They will tell you how many instances of a block are found, including how may are not in the currrent space.
