Is there a way to count all types of object in a drawing?
Like this:
Command: ????
Number of blocks: 22
Number of 3d faces: 2
.
.
Number of hatches:1
"Qselect" does it but it can be very slow if there are a large number of objects in the file.
I guess this information is savea as "meta data" and can be accessed even without opening the file???
Ctrl + A
Then go to your properties (Ctrl + 1)
Drop down the list at the top, it numbers each object.
Not great for a huge drawing maybe, but it's something like what you wanted.

If I were you I would have a look over at the lisp forum or just on the web with your favourite search engine. I'd be surprised if it hasn't been done before.

Have you tried SSX or a similar lisp or VBA. They will tell you how many instances of a block are found, including how may are not in the currrent space.
