No existing ground showing in sections

I am attempting to create section views. I get the road asembly, and where it daylights to the existing ground surface, but I can not get the existing ground to show in the sections. Any ideas what I am doing wrong.

Two places I would check, would be to ensure that your surface style is turned on to display in section views:

And also check to ensure that the existing surface is sampled via the Sample Line Group Properties:

It was the Sample Sources in the Sample Lines Group that did not have the existing ground it.
