My first impression is you are definitely short in excess of 21,000 (C.Y.?).  Sounds negative to me if that is your question.

This table is coming from an after stance, We compared an original surface to a current surface. My net volume needs to be a fill value. Worst case senarion i can drop the sign because it is fill the whole way. Maybe I am looking at it wrong.

Thanks,
Dave

Is it possible when you compared the 2 you just got the base surface flip flopped? This would reverse the volume numbers.

Normally, I look at a job to see if it is balanced.  In your case it shows negative which tells me I need to look for fill or re-design.  Either way as you say, it needs fill.

Oops I misread this one, I agree with Bill, the negative value is correct for indicating fill/import needed, I took it to mean your Cut and Fill totals were switched around.

Not exactly sure what the OP is asking but Cut is typically reported as +ve and fill is -ve (in order to create a mass haul diagram) although as long as everyone is consistent then it shouldn't make any difference.

I've never tried tables, but if you do a volume analysis and export it to xml & open in excel, it is the opposite. Cut is negative and Fill is positive.
