Hi, I am new to Civil 3D. I have this contour lines from dwg file (see attached) and I am trying to make a surface out of it. Initially i thought it is already a surface for C3D but i cant seem to follow tutorials. While browsing for solutions from the Internet, it seems it is not even a contour file that can be added in C3D.
Can someone provide some guidance as to what is this file and how i can convert it into a surface in C3D?
It might have started out as a Civil surface but it isn't one anymore.
Select all the objects and explode which will create 2D poly lines at elevation (i.e. contours) which can then be added to a surface definition; review the "create surface from contours" topic in Help

...and for future reference, contours are probably the least preferred objects for building a surface (unless they have a very small vertical interval e.g 0.05m).
The 3D faces or an XML file are the best for transferring surfaces between different modelling systems
