Multiple descriptions in label style

I am trying to create a label style with 3 descriptions.

I created a point file format that was comma delimited.  My csv point files look like this: Pt#,Northing,Easting,Elevation,Description,Description,Description.

Here is how I have my point file format setup.

Default extension: .csv

Delimited by: ,

column names are this:

Point number, Northing, Easting, Elevation, Raw description, Description2 (user-defined-String), Description3 (user-defined-String).

For my label style, I started with standard with 3 components, Pt #, Elevation, Description, I added a text component and in contents I selected 'Label text".  In contents, how do I get it to show my other 2 description.

Hope I have all the info here I need to get some help, Help would be greatly appreciated. C3D 2011.

I think you would have to edit your style by adding those two components in the Label Style Composer.

The other two descriptions will need User Defined Property Classifications for each and then you need to create a custom Point File Format. After the UDP are set up you should be able to get them in a label... It's been a while...

Look at the Point tree in the Setings tab of the Toolspace.

How did you get this to work. I am trying to do this but I can't get it to work.

You need to create the fields first

Toolspace->Settings->point->user defined property classifications

Create New-> call it whatever, I called mine, "extra descriptions"

Once you create that, then ricght click on the name you just created and 'create new'

Call these, "description 1", "description 2" etc,

Then you need to create a point file format so that you can import files with many fields of data, when creating the point file format, and you click on a column to assign a data field, you will see a drop down menu and you should be able to select the user defined property classifications you created in the first step.

Then you will need to create a point label style that will accomodate all the fields of data you have.  Get started and let me know where you get stuck.
