Often, I prefer to set Mtext width to 0, in order that I may break lines where I choose rather than at predefined intervals. Normally, all I had to do in the Mtext editor was right-click the width bar at the top of the Mtext and set "width" to 0.
Now that option is grayed out, both in the Mtext editor and in the Properties menu, where a useless calculator symbol has taken to appearing. I fear that I've accidentally changed some sysvar that now prevents my setting Mtext width to 0.
What have I done? How may I fix it? I append an image with red arrows showing the inaccessible settings.
Thanks!

It appears you have "Dynamic" columns on. Try changing that to "static" or "no columns".
Consider changing the MTEXTCOLUMN system variable to 0 in your prototype to eliminate this new annoyance.
