mr sid crashes 2013

has anyone else experienced incessant crashing of 2013 SP1 while inserting mr SID images? both mapiinsert and raster design route. FDO not tested yet.

Try inserting the image into a new drawing set to the coordinate system of the Sid. Save the drawing and attach it to your work drawing.

Then use Map Query to bring it into your drawing and coordinate system.

I have had problems trying to do coordinate transforms from image insert.  Suspect large Sid's overwhelm system resources.

thanks for your reply, no map query is involved in my case as the state DEP provides/hosts mr sids in state plane coordinates. i only need to insert them (thru map or raster design), that seems to crash continuously for some reason.

i wonder this 4th generation SID has something to do with my problem:

I will have to use the other program mentioned here to confirm. the line below from the post above caught my attention:

"The file size will grow a bit, but it won't crash AutoCAD! :)"
