moving the startpoint of an alignment

I am trying to move the horizontal startpoint of my alignment, without effecting the vertical geometry of the alignment. I have tried to move the point with my grips, but this effects vertical geometry and I need the geometry to remain in place, but the chainage values should update.

Any suggestions.

Only going off my earlier experimentation, Steven, but if you right-click|Edit alignment, you should be able to add a line (or curve) to the front of the zero station without the zero point moving. I believe that leaves your VG intact.

Actually, I just did a very small experiment and it seemed to work okay... Hope it's what you had in mind.

Hope that helps,
