Moving profile or alignment,
I’m not sure why moving profile introduces a problem! Some data is missed!
What might be the reason?
Thank you
Best
Jamal
Using the Move command isn't our preferred method of editing an alignment and/or profile. We use the grip edit tools of both those objects. Perhaps going through the tutorials on editing alignments and editing profiles would help you. There's also some good reference material out there, AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 Essentials and Mastering AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 are two that we use.
I just moved a couple of profile views in 2012. I didn't have any problem. Does the design profile still exist in the Prospector?

Are you selecting the Design Profile or the Profile View when you do the Move?

Don't do a move with a window or window crossing on objects.
Move the "base" object by picking it, then everything attached to it will follow.
Therfore, in your situation, move the "Profile" by moving the Profile View.
While I agree moving profile views with the grips instead of the move command is probably the better method should you need to adjust the profile view, have you regened after moving it? I have had this issue happen to me after moving a profile or section view. Some of the data appears to either get "lost in translation" or remains in the original location until I regen or regenall.
Yes.
You have to do a Regen

That sound like it might be a video card or version issue. I don't see that in 2012. I move a profile view and everything shows in the new location immediately.

Come to think of it, that hasn't happened since we switched over to 2012 a few months ago. It was more common when we were in 2011.

You may also want to note that given a profile created with the Layout tools you can select the profile and hit the Geomerty Editor button on the contextual Ribbon tab you will see the Profile Layout Toolstoolbar. This toolbar has a button to raise/lower the profile. I can do all PI's or PI's within a station range.

Apologies for the confusion.
Yes, that problem occurs as I move the “profile view” but not the “design vertical curve”
I tried the “region” but has no effect!
When the “design vertical curve” disappears as I moved the “profile view”?
I see what's happening but I can't reproduce it in 2012, So that may be a new "Feature Enhancement" in 2013. I'd suggest starting a Service Request if your on Subscription or calling them if you at gold level.

Did you ever find a solution to this problem?
I've recently come across the same problem in a drawing of mine.
Surveyors input data and did profile work but it was put into local coordinates rather then world UTM as we require for the complete package. So my task is to copy the objects over, which is simple enough on its own, and then move them to meet the rest of the project. When I move them I seem to lose the profile data while the rest seems to have moved with all of its relative information intact.
