I need to order a new mobile workstation. 2 years ago I ordered the nicest sony viao but it has never been able to work on civil 3d properly, constantly stalls or locks up Autocad Civil 3d.

I just recently bought a new MSI Gaming Series laptop and it runs Civil 3D really good. If you're really concerned about file sizes and 3D modeling you could go all the way for their Mobile Workstations. They just demoed them at Autodesk University and they look like great machines.
