Does anyone know of a easy way to match codes? Basically does the same as "match properties" but to cogo points?
Thanks
Allan
Hello Allan,
More details needed. "Code" is not a term that applies to COGO points.
Do you mean match description? So if I pick one point as a description source and then pick a selection set of other points, the descriptions of the other points will match the source?
Or maybe you mean match Point Style and/or Point Lable Style?
Tim
Hi Tim,
sorry probably not clear. I want to match point style, label style, raw description in a way match properties work.
Don't know if this is possible?
Thanks
Allan
well, yes it is. You can use match properties tool for labels. For instance I do this for matching alignment station labels sometimes.
There are a couple of ways this could be accomplished.
One would be to create a point group and set up overrides for the components, so that you force the point object to look how you want for that group and set it's priority in the hierachy.
The other would be to physically edit the point descriptions, and use description keys to set the way the object will look. ***Note you could also set the description keys to do this with multiple descriptions to override the existing description***
You easiest solution might be the first method. Since the data is already in the drawing, and if the data is part of a survey database you would not be able to edit the descriptions without going through some additional steps. (unlocking/updating), its the closest thing to a one click method that I can think of.

If you'd be interested in a 3rd party software. Sincpac has a command to do this with Civil 3D objects. You can download a free trial. I've found this to be very useful.
