MapThematicRamps.arm is not providing the color scheme I put in it

I read that you can edit:
C:\Program Files\AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009\MapThematicRamps.arm
and add another color scheme.
I did that, and the color scheme is not showing in the list.

I made sure acad was closed when I edited it, then opened a fresh session, made new surface, the item I added is not
there.
Its a super simple xml hack too, I did not mess that up.

Does that file get compiled or something? any reason why the hack did not work?
I know acad is finding the MapThematicRamps.arm that I hacked because i did a (findfile "MapThematicRamps.arm") and got
the right answer from acad.

I'm on c3d 2009, windows xp, thx

That file hasn't been used in a number of years by C3D. Editing it was
an option with 2007 I think, but after that, it's a nonstarter.

At least you can stop fiddling with it. The routine Ove posted on the
Community some time ago works like a champ for exporting and importing
setups.

Same thing with the one in Map3D, worked good in 2005. 🙂

wow, just double click the color to change. Couldn't be easier (unless the help mentioned it...).
Thanks again James
