got a problem I can't figure out. I'm running Civil 3D 2012 on Windows 7 pro 64bit. when I try to type in the command MAPCGSETUP or get it from the pull down menu in planningandanalysis/home/draw/cogo/cogooptions I get the following message.
Command: _MAPCGSETUP
Initializing....
There are no valid MS Jet providers installed......Done.
Unknown command "MAPCGSETUP". Press F1 for help.
after the first try it just gives me this message
Command: _MAPCGSETUP Unknown command "MAPCGSETUP". Press F1 for help.
any ideas?
I get Unknown Command in 2011. I wasn't familiar with the command so I read the Help. Have you been using this command in Civil 3D? After reading what it does. This looks like something that might be purposely disabled in C3D.

Allan is correct, that command was disabled in Civil 3D because it conflicted. That menu are the transparent commands from Civil 3D and the settings for them are controlled from the "Ambient Settings" of the drawing. If you use the Draw menu in Civil 3D you will have all those commands and more.

Very strange, when I use the help menu in Civil 3D 2012 it gave me that command to use. I even picked it from the drop down menu and it didn't work.
I tried the above and it worked, and I slowly got the hang of it but I still can't do what I initially set out to do. I'm using south azimuths and that works fine but north orientation is 180-deg (pointing straight up). on my drawing north is set an an angle other then straight up so I want to realign it.
You can't do that in Civil 3D and I hated when people did that in LDD. North is always 0°. You can use the DView command to change the orientation of the model in Model Space or a Paper Space viewport. Enter DView then either select some objects or default to block. Then enter TW for Twist and enter the angle you want the MS orientation to change. It will look like North is no longer up the page but it will still be at 0°.
