lost surface contour yet can display elevation banding

Colleagues:

The contours of a surface got lost or missing of a file after plotting it (or even making some minor editing), in fact the plotted drawing has them printed yet the source file stopped displaying them (surface style was major @ 20m minor @5m)

The surface is still listed on the Prospector and even can display other surfaces styles as CUT&FILL BANDING or ELEVATION BANDING, properties as; the rest of surfaces can display the surface style: major @ 20m minor @5m with no problem.

I tried rebuilding the surface with no results.

Audit & recover detect nothing on the file.

I have LEVEL OF DETAIL off to make sure the full display of the surface contours on the plotted drawing.

There was a similar behaviour before plotting with a backup of the file (lost the contours of the surface while doing some editing) but if I keep working on any of them at some point the countours dissapear.

Any idea or suggestion is truly appreciated in advanced.

It would help to look at the drawing...

In the styles editor, where the layers are assigned, there is a click box for visible or not. I only ask because I spent the better part of  an hour tracking that and the line that shows when you lable mutiple contours at the same time.

I appreciate your fast reply, in relation to the drawing request for further analysis I consulted my supervisor and due to sensitivity information contained in the drawing and no divulgation policy I can’t submit the file

I double checked that setting and for the style X that has the issue its set to visible both in plan & model view directions (which is consistent with the fact that the contours were actually plotted on paper) but causes the odd behaviour since they are no longer displayed on the model or paper space (but you can assign any other style like banding to the surface and display the properties as area).

A further comment is that any other surface can actually be assigned and display the style X

Thank you

If you turn on your triangles in that style - do you see them all OK in that area? Can you apply one of standard styles to that surface - will that show contours? What would happen if you export your surface to LandXML and import it back (via LANDXMLOUT and LANDXMLIN)?

I suspect the issus is drawing related and feel we could do better if we could see your drawing. Any chance you can strip the confidential data and only provide us your surface?

Sorry for the delay:

If you turn on your triangles in that style - do you see them all OK in that area?

Yes

Can you apply one of standard styles to that surface - will that show contours?

No, any style with contours can not be displayed (yet all with banding can do)

What would happen if you export your surface to LandXML and import it back (via LANDXMLOUT and LANDXMLIN)?

Tried it but got an error on importing it (I'll try to delete the contours of the surface after I exported it and before import the data back to the surface)

Update and temporary solution

If i make a copy of the surface via select on prospector, copy, enter, enter then the missing contours can now be displayed with any style that has contours on (sometimes on the copied surface and sometimes in the surface with the issue; i have no clue about this behaviour).

Additional questions:

Regarding the data strip, since there are many surfaces, gradings and sites manually delete them is slow ¿is there a method to select multiple sites, surfaces and gradings on prospector and delete them all at once and not one by one?
