What are you exporting - contours, TIN or something else?  The elevation of the surface objects is controlled by the surface style.  If your style is set to display the contours etc as 2D, then that is what you export.

Sorry - I wasn't clear earlier.  What I am trying to find out is what you want as an output in the exported drawing.  Do you want to see contours there, or triangles and points?

If you open the surface style dialog and switch to the Triangles tab there is an option there to control the elevation display.  The other tabs will also have a similar control.  You need to set it to use surface elevation for the objects that you want to export then use the Display tab to make sure that those objects are turned on.

I had to explode my contour labels before exporting to autocad.
