Loading Shapefile attributes into AutoCAD

I'm using AutoCad 2013 Civil 3D. I'm trying to import the attribute table from a GIS shapefile into AutoCAD.  I tried it in Map but could not get it to work.  I could not find and object file in creating a quirey.  Is thier some online documents that could help me out.  I'm new to AutoCAD so any simple help would be appreaciated.

You must first import the GIS data into a drawing, save the drawing, and then attache that drawing into your working drawing.  Once attached, you can query in the data you need.

Here's a video I put together that explains how to do this:

http://enceptia.com/importing-gis-data-civil-3d/

Watch the whole video before you jump in.

This is just one method.  You can also use this method if you choose:  http://www.augi.com/library/gis-to-cad-in-civil-3d

Hope this helps,

Jason
