More of Dave's way.
1. Assign a coordinate system
2. insert/import/data connect an object or shape file
3. Use GEOMAP command, if you are not logged on to A360 it will ask you to,

GEOMAP ask me if I want to use online maps but never presents me with a sign in dialog, and I get no map
This is getting riduclous. How can it work for some and not others? What in the name of Mike can I be doing wrong?
Just click yes to use the live maps, if you are already signed on to any Autodesk servers it may not ask you to sign in or if your browser is checked to remember sign in & password. I found out that if you use LL83 coordinate system if doesn't display the maps either, are you using a state plane CS?

Joe,
OK, let's try something and see if we can isolate the problem. Here's a 2015 drawing, default Imperial Template, with one single point and coord system set to AZ State Plane. Open this drawing and then try to bring up Bing Maps. If you don't have the Geolocation Ribbon, then just command-line it like Murph does. Report back.

Joe,
That is weird. Does your boundary have COGO points or is it just lines? If you've got points, post a text file.

it is a GIS shp file. I may have been uttering 88 but I meant 83. don't think there actually is an 88

Joe,
I FDO'ed your shape file into 2015 and I was able to instantly bring up Bing Live Maps:
I don't know what's going on.

So did I, worked ok. I set the dwg coordinate system to HARN/NY.NY-LIF then data connected then Geomap.
intersesting.
Any particular reason you went to HARN?
