Sounds like a network component (switch, hub, NIC card, or even loose CAT
cable) is failing.

Maybe turn off the real-time virus scanning of the license server?
Maybe update NIC driver on the server?
Maybe service pack the OS and get rid of Spybot?

After loading Civil 3D 2006 network license version I had no immediate
problems. Then I get one of the Civil 3D users asking me why they can't open
the program. It was acting like it couldn't find the license on the server.
I got an error alert saying,
"A valid license could not be obtained by the network license manager...
Error [1.5.-4]"
So I forced a shut down of the license server then restarted it and it
worked. I thought it was going to be an isolated thing until today.
I got the same message except this time there was one person using Civil 3D
(we have 2 licenses) but I couldn't get it going on any other machines.
Is this just a hiccup or is there a fix/work around other then having to
restart the license server? It is just kind of inconvenient having to take
the time to do it when I am all ready really busy with other things.
